That old time Barack on a roll

Latest Rasmussen survey has him now up 12% on Hillary in New Hampshire. That matches yesterday's 12% in the ARG poll, which seemed high. CNN/WMUR, which had it even yesterday, now gives Obama a 10% bulge. Other surveys peg it lower.

Should be an interesting 48 hours: Hillary went after Obama today, with a New York Times blog report opening this way: "A charged-up Hillary Rodham Clinton retooled her stump speech Sunday afternoon to challenge the messages of change from Barack Obama and John Edwards, her chief rivals in the New Hampshire primary, by using their own words and voting records against them." This included attacks on Obama for voting for the Patriot Act, for Iraq war funding (which Hillary also supported, of course), and then there's this: “If you say that you passed the Patients Bill of Rights, but then forget to add it did not become law, that’s not change."

John McCain, meanwhile, is not backing off his statement from three nights ago, when he said that if the U.S. stayed in Iraq for 100 years that would be fine with him. On CBS "Face the Nation" today, asked about this, he added two more zeroes to his number, saying, "The point is it’s American casualties. We’ve got to get Americans off the front lines, have the Iraqis as part of the strategy, take over more and more of the responsibilities -- and then I don’t think Americans are concerned if we’re there for one hundred years or a thousand years or ten thousand years."

Hillary knows that Senator Obama was not in the Senate in 2001 when the Patriot Act was enacted. She was and she voted for it! She also knows that later when Senator Obama was in the Senate, he voted for an amendment to the Patriot Act to improve it, but made it clear more changes were needed. She also knows that Obama voted on funding when our troops were in need of protective gear, but never in support of continuing the war. She knows that Obama introduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act", a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008. These are a few of the many examples over the past two months of Hillary's shameful attempts to trick the voters by distorting Obama's record, his religion, his patriotism, etc. ad nauseum.

Her comment against Edwards on the Patients Bill of Rights he worked on was just petty.

It's over Hillary, we're on to you. Please do not subject us to any more.

Sounds a lot like Viet Nam...
