Outrageous coverup on soldier suicides

It's a shame.

The City of Bainbridge Island, Washington told the American legion post on Bainbridge Island that it could not extend veterans preferences in hiring to all jobs because it was against Washington State Law.

When the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, said "not true"; they then shifted the argument.

One person said that it was wrong to offer veterans preferences over disabled or other protected groups (race, gender, age) as if veterans didn't come in all shapes and sizes.

Another person, the City Administrator, took the no we're aren't changing anything or as I would call it the "go away don't bother me approach".

Bainbridge Island is a very privileged city where the mean home price is about 600,000 even with the current downturn in home prices and where the average take home matches the home prices.

Even if you are not a resident of Bainbridge Island if you are a veteran, on active duty, or the relative of a veteran and you want to let city hall know how you feel about their attitude, here are some email addresses:
