Major correction tonight from ABC when it admitted that its "scoop" earlier today--that director Tony Scott killed himself yesterday after learning he had "inoperable brain cancer"--was never confirmed beyond its single source. (Was this another Brian Ross special?) No one in Scott's family had heard anything about a cancer. So ABC has now retracted, hours after it bounced around the world (I reported it myself, attributing it to an ABC report). In fact, TMZ reports, "What's more ... we're told Scott's wife says Tony did not have any other severe medical issues that would have caused him to take his own life."

Circumstances, events and situations can bring on the stress response. The stress response is also known as fight or flight. The body prepares itself to react to the situation at hand. The sympathetic nerve system takes over releasing adrenal and other chemicals into the blood stream while heartbeat and respiratory rate increase. Thanks a lot.
