Augusta Finally Admits 2 Women--One of Them, Condi
Augusta National, site of yearly protests surrounding its famous Masters golf tourney because the club holds no women members, finally has invited two (not exactly typical folks)--Condi Rice and a South Carolina financier. They have accepted. Statement: “These accomplished women share our passion for the game of golf and both are well known and respected by our membership. It will be a proud moment when we present Condoleezza and Darla their green jackets when the club opens this fall." The club had no black members until 1990.
