Dems Disavow Own Senate Nominee!

In what must be one of the most bizarre turns of a bizarre election year, the Democratic Party of Tennessee--you know, the party of Al Gore--has come out against its own candidate for the U.S. Senate seat held by Bob Corker after he finished first in a seven-man primary this week.  They even charged that Mark Clayton, 35,   is a member of a "hate group," had never voted Democrat until he no doubt voted for himself.

How did he win? They suggest that none of the other candidates caught fire and Clayton's name was listed at the top of the ballot.  "Clayton said he’s an unpaid vice president and does occasional writing for Public Advocate of the United States, which was designated as 'an anti-gay hate group' by the Southern Poverty Law Center in March."
