'NYT' Flushes Assange Charges

Who says bloggers and tweeters have no power?  A few hours ago I noted here, and tweeted (as did others), the amazing fact:  NYT in its morning basic report on what's just happened re: Ecuador and Assange and asylum, closed with a recounting of Assange as odd "houseguest"  in the past.  Yes, the newspaper has been feuding with Assange for ages, but was there a crying need at this point to re-cycle the claims of old chum, now rival, Daniel Domscheit-Berg that he once abused a cat, and regularly failed to flush the toilet?  Key line: "In an interview with The New York Times in early 2011, Mr. Domscheit-Berg added that Mr. Assange had refused to flush the toilet during his entire stay."

Well, apparently the paper's editors have seen the error of their ways and those references have been axed.  See the cleaned-up link above.  And here's my full report on the Assange asylum case and the Brit threat to, maybe, take him by force. See my two books and ebooks on WikiLeaks and Bradley Manning.

I noticed that as well:

They were getting hammered on Twitter and to a lesser extent in the comments on their own site. They did leave in the dig about RT being funded by Putin.
