I made a wild, joking dream request on Twitter earlier today--that Ray Davies doing the apt "Waterloo Sunset" (far from their most famous song) at the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. And, miracle of miracle, I just watched him do it live! Full song, and with crowd singalong. Let's see if it makes the NBC broadcast tonight. Still, would have nice for Ray to inject a little reality on modern Great Britain, as in the rather obscure from the same '67 era, "Dead End Street."
