'San Francisco' Giant Dies

It was the biggest or greatest '60s rock hit but it was iconic for an era and so lingered to this day.  Surely you have heard that "If you're going to San Francisco--be sure to wear some flowers in your hair."  The singer was Scott McKenzie, he'd never top it, and now (sending a shudder through many boomers) he has died at the age of 73 after battling Guillian-Barre Syndrome.  Not so well-known is that McKenzie later wrote the big hit "Kokomo."  Clip below from classic Monterey Pop, introduced by Mama Cass. John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas co-wrote "San Francisco."
