You may have read or heard about 1000 times since last night that Obama was adopting Ali's old "rope-a-dope" strategy, letting Romney punch himself out and wait for his opening. Unfortunately, either the opening never came or Obama was too slow to spot it. In any case, he did not respond with flurry of blows and go in for the knock out. Romney dropped his arms and jutted out his chin when he made the "I need a new accountant" comment and Obama passed right by it.
Had no fight in him, which is as bad or maybe worse for Democratic Party down-ticket races as it is for himself.
