For several days now I've been posting a cool Leonard Cohen music video or live clip (or cover version by such as The Pixies) to coincide with period in his life I have reached in reading the fine new bio. Now he's just finished his five (yes, five) years as a monk in the zen retreat up on Mt. Baldy near L.A. in the 1990s--after, somehow, leaving Rebecca deMornay--and is starting to record the latest in his many "comeback" lps, with Sharon Robinson. Lot of great tunes on that record, and here's one which describes his return to real life: "Back on Boogie Street." Below that, my favorite, one of the great songs of recent years, "Alexandra Leaving."
