NYT political columns about to get posted and here they are now. Maureen Dowd claims Aaron Sorkin leaked to her a meetings this week between Obama and former President Jed Bartlet. Of course, in this version, Obama gets schooled and finally comes up with good line he forgot: "Governor, if your ideas are the right ideas for our country, if you have
a plan and it’s the best plan for our future, if your vision is the
best vision for all of us and not 53 percent of us, why aren’t you able
to make that case in the same ZIP code as the truth?"
Plus: Thomas Friedman on what Obama needs to do in second debate. Frank Bruni on how speaking boldly, with untruths, often carries the day. And Ross Douthat naturally hails the New Romney, leading GOP and GOPers following. What a shock. All they want to do is beat Obama. They'd follow Warren Harding if was still alive.

Because of the baluster's connection to the Medici family, it also received a great deal of exposure in the works of Michelangelo, whom the family patronized for many years. With time, balusters also came to be referred to as columns and spindles.
