Golden Globe Trotting

Nominations out this morning in annual ritual.  My initial reactions:  "Marigold Hotel"?  "Salmon Fishing" with several top nods? Really?  No "Beasts of the Southern Wild"?  Though good to see "The Master" skipped, except for rising Phoenix and two other stars.  DeNiro passed over for "Silver Linings Playlist," where his performance was more overbearing than anything.

Most of the acting nods predictable, although Richard Gere snuck in there, along with Bill Murray as FDR (not exactly well-reviewed).   In fact, most of the picks very mainstream, not like the good old wacky Globe days.  Same TV shows and actors continue to show up, by rote, every year.  Lena and Louis newbies this time.
