Just Now: Connecticut Schools in 'Lockdown'

Not far (20 miles) from Newtown in CT:  Ridgefield Superintendent Deborah Low has just released a statement saying that town schools "have been put into lockdown."  Update:  Man has rifle.
"This is Ridgefield Superintendent Deborah Low with an important annoucement on Monday, December 17th at 9:00 AM. Due to a report of a possibly suspicious person in the Branchville Train Station area, all schools have been put into lockdown. Branchville Elementary school busses have been diverted to East Ridge Middle School and BES students are in the auditorium."
Even if nothing--fear cripples and thousands of kids in state and region and country deeply troubled.

I absolutely loathe the use of the word "lockdown" for our public schools. It makes them look like prisons.
