As Wayne LaPierre was about to speak today, against any new gun controls and for weaponizing every school, there was another mass killing by firearms in PA--three men and one woman, plus three state troopers injured. Here's first report, and update here. Shootings took place along several miles 70 miles west of Harrisburg. Another update: woman was killed at a church. Shooter, IDed as Jeffrey Michael, dead. Further update: two men were shot and killed in driveway of home.
NYT just now: "The armed man, who has not been identified, fatally shot a woman in the
church’s fellowship hall, where she had been decorating for a children’s
Christmas party, said Philip McCaulley, the son of the chuch’s
preacher. The woman, whose identity has not been released by the
authorities, was in her 50s, said Mr. McCaulley."
Three days ago: man kills two, shoots two others, execution-style at chicken processing plant in CA., then offs himself.

I saw a headline at a media blog to the effect that KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, UT would suspend gun sales on its WEBSITE (presumably there are no gun advertisers on the broadcast station; hey do they carry beer ads?). But the LDS-owned Deseret News newspaper has a "DEALS" section, and it offers cut-rate prices on the training to get concealed-carry licenses. Meanwhile, some schools in Utah are in lockdown today because of gun threats.
