A 'Parks & Rec' Media Moment
It went by in a flash but, as a media maven, I had to crack up at one point in tonight's Parks and Recreation episode. The Rob Lowe (city manager) character is now sort of dating a local Pawnee newspaper reporter but doesn't know where he stands with her. When she covers a story that touches on his work, she tells him she will print a disclaimer at the bottom of her story revealing their "status." But he doesn't know what that really is.
When he asks her she says, You'll have to wait quite awhile--for tomorrow morning's paper, in print. He then looks into the camera and asks, Why did I have to get involved with someone from the "old media"? Short but...knowing.
