Better Late Than Never Dept.

NYT finally gets around to doing obit for environmental activist Rebecca. Tarbotton, who died at age of 39--on December 26, in a swimming accident in Mexico, as was widely-reported (elsewhere).   She had been head of the Rainforest Action Network (RAN) since 2010, but before that, as the Times notes, she had "helped persuade big banks to stop financing mountaintop removal mining" and more recently "helped persuade Disney to reduce its use of paper made from trees cut down in rain forests."  She was born in Canada and lived in Oakland.
