Lawrence Wright on Colbert

The author of Going Clear just came on following a Colbert segment mocking Scientology, with Stephen warning that having Wright on might lead to him "going broke" if lawyers came after him.  Wright was asked why he seemed to compare Scientology to a prison  and he replied by citing abuses and forced confinement.  A "prison of belief"--not held against their will but their will holds them there.

Colbert jokes that he'd get out of the Catholic Church if he learned about priests abusing anyone. He also says that he admires L. Ron Hubbard ("or L.R.H. as we call him") for, like him,  being against paying taxes.    Then he asks Wright if he should go to Hollywood and become a Scientology celebrity.  Wright says he'd be a "martyr." But he adds, some people have been helped by the religion, although folks like Tom Cruise get a lot of extra perks (even a hand-crafted limo).
