Spike It

That's NYT public editor Margaret Sullivan's verdict on what should have been done with that recent wedding ("Vows") story in the paper that drew so much criticism.  You may recall that it pictured the union of two dreamy New Age types while noting that the woman had run over a 5-year-old girl in her car not long ago, killing her.  It apparently wasn't her fault but the language of the story offended...nearly everyone.  Read Sullivan's critique.
