Wednesday update: Cop who killed Tamir Rice was found "unfit" for duty just two years ago. "He could not follow simple directions, could not communicate clear
thoughts nor recollections, and his handgun performance was dismal.”
Tuesday update: Father of cop who shot kid says he simply had "no choice." Also the cop is "doing pretty well" (but, you know, the kid is dead).
Tamir Rice had what turned out to be a fake handgun. Sunday Update: Cleveland Plain Dealer editorial points out police lied on version of events, as proven by video. And see Wash Post editorial on another police killing (murder?) there and cover-up.

This particular state murder is by far the saddest case lately. And too slowly the media have started to open their eyes to the reality that its not just a Furguson problem. The Post editors make the connection nicely here (http://wapo.st/129WOXf). Too much to hope I guess, that these events will be seen to be just the local manifestations of a country whose economy relies on killing people somewhere in the world everyday.
