Atomic scientist Harold Agnew has died. He was a Manhattan Project physicist who talked his way on one of the planes on the Hiroshima mission and shot the only footage of the mushroom cloud rising after the blast, through a window (see below). Unfortunately, in my view, he championed the bombing for the rest of his life, though he did assist arms control efforts.
