Scientist Who Shot Bomb Footage Dies

Atomic scientist Harold Agnew has died.   He was a Manhattan Project physicist who talked his way on one of the planes on the Hiroshima mission and shot the only footage of the mushroom cloud rising after the blast, through a window (see below).   Unfortunately, in my view, he championed the bombing for the rest of his life, though he did assist arms control efforts.  My book covers suppressed footage from on the ground in the aftermath, and you can see some of it here.
