The New York Times today carries a review of the new "The Killing of John Lennon" docudrama, in theaters today, and concludes that it's haunting but (given the grim climax) also a real "bummer." I remember the night he died -- at the hands of Mark David Chapman -- very well: hearing the first report on local NYC television news about 11 p.m., then following the updates on FM radio. Three days later I walked by the Dakota and attended the public remembrance in Central Park. R.I.P. Here is the trailer for the film.
