Clintons vs. MSNBC -- as Shuster suspended
The Clinton camp is hopping mad over comments MSNBC's David Shuster made last night on Tucker Carlson's show about Chelsea Clinton. He said that she was being widely used by her mother on the campaign trail, even making phone calls, but refuses to talk to the press, and concluded (after also praising her) with a reference to her being "pimped out" for the campaign. NBC said Shuster has apologized -- then suspended him. Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson is now threatening to pull out of any MSNBC debates, citing other infractions (Chris Matthews) there -- and they have the big one in Ohio coming up. Meanwhile, David Brock over at Media Matters has hit today a "pattern" of sexist quips at MSNBC (Matthews in the lead) and wants real steps to halt it.
