Secret Obama memo suggests true deadlock
NBC's political unit is calling it "the political junkie scoop of the post-Feb. 5 news cycle." Apparently an internal Obama team memo was mistakenly attached to a sheet released to Bloomberg News, which now reveals that the Obama managers expect him to sweep all of the primaries in the next few weeks -- but then lose to Clinton in the big states of Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania, which would even out the delegates. NBC thinks this is based on Obama expecting to do well in more "white wine" states while Hillary holds on to more "blue-collar" and Hispanic support. "So it's a very realistic assessment," NBC concludes. Others have suggested that Obama, with the momentum of a long run of February wins, will then carry at least Ohio and Pennsylvania, possibly wrapping things up...
