The REAL Super Tuesday: Updates here

I'll be posting here tonight. As expected, Obama takes Vermont. Olbermann on MSNBC asks, if Hillary wins the rest, do we play it as she is 3-1 for this week or 3-13 for past month? More results soon. MSNBC seems to be hinting that exit polls show she will win narrowly in both Ohio and Texas. "White men have returned to her." Etc.

8:00 PM The raw vote, from Texas, at 8:30, shows Obama with a nice lead. If this is the pre-primary day voting coming in, wasn't this supposed to go to her? Also, he has successfully got a judge to order polls to remain open an extra 90 minutes in Sandusky, near Cleveland, a key Obama area. Ohio too close to call. MSNBC's Chuck Todd says that even if Hillary wins 51%-49% in Texas, Obama will win a couple more delegates in that, plus an edge in the delegates coming out of the (chaotic) caucuses going on right now. Meanwhile, polls closing in Dallas with dozens lined up out the door, so may stay open. Wild.

9:00 PM At nine o'clock all polls are closed (except, naturally, in some places in Ohio), and -- Rhode Island, Texas, Ohio, too close to call. Then R.I. falls for Hillary. Huckabee throws in the towel and McCain appears to acccept nomination. Let the spin begin.

10:00 PM Chuck Todd says that while Obama trails badly in Ohio none of the largest cities has reported much at all. Hillary has now tied it up in raw vote in Texas -- but Harris County, big for Obama, has not sent along its tally. So we could be here all night.

11:00 PM NBC calls Ohio for Hillary -- and pundits already saying this is enough for her to go on, even though her husband once said she had to win Texas, too. But she might still pull that out in any case....In her victory speech she clearly vows to go on, so any hope that Obama backers (and some neutral party leaders) had that they might avoid a bloody seven weeks in Pennsylvania have now been dashed.

12:05 AM: Brian Williams on MSNBC makes a couple of points: 1) the Clinton negative ads hurt Obama and he unwisely tried to refute her "telephone" with a similar-looking one-- people thought they were watching the anti-Obama ad 2) SNL skit and aftermath was a factor indeed.

12:30 AM: Just when it looks like it could go on all night, Hillary is handed Texas vote, though trailing in caucus tally and may get fewer delegates overall. No question that a long battle now -- and gigantic fight over Florida and Michigan. Obama's Axelrod says they feel great, Hillary did not gain delegates and now another 300 off the table. Hold on to your hats, tornados coming.
