Did She Use Her Backhand or an Overhand Smash?

Amazing story of the night:  Well-regarded tennis referee, arriving in New York for prime time gig at the U.S. Open tourney, is arrested on charges of murdering her husband in April.

With a "deadly and dangerous weapon"-- coffee mug.  (In the observatory, with Col. Mustard?)  She may have also stabbed him with the mug, which ain't easy.   So it must not have been from Starbucks.  All this took place in Los Angeles.  She had said he fell down the stairs.
