UPDATE #1 Bloomberg now reports: "Page was discharged honorably from the Army in 1998 after six years of service. He had been a Hawk missile repairman and a 'psychological operations specialist,' said the defense official who asked for anonymity to release the details."
He is Wade Michael Page, and as previously reported, an Army vet. "Multiple sources tell CBS News that Page was a former member of the U.S. military, but he was no longer serving actively. It was not immediately clear under what circumstances Page left the military. Officials had previously described the suspect as a heavy-set, 40-year-old Caucasian with numerous tattoos. Sources tell CBS News some unspecified evidence suggests race or ethnicity may have played a role in the violence, but no links to extremist groups have been confirmed." One tattoo related to 9/11. Another report had him once posted at Fort Bragg. Here's an item from news site in town where he lived, Cudahy, indicating he had not lived there long
