New NBC/WSJ poll just out gives Obama 5% lead nationally, buoyed by 7% gain in optimism about the economy. Once again, I will say "told you so" when experts warned that those September job numbers would really hurt him. Also: all of the major polls have now switched from a "registered voters" to "likely voters" format which was supposed to hurt Obama, but has not.
Another round of new polls from key swing states out today with Obama still looking good. Links here but in general (based on those results and others this week) he has gained a nice bulge even in Virginia and Ohio and Wisconsin and New Mexico, and opened up a wider lead in Pennsylvania. Colorado very tight indeed. The Gallup national poll is down to 1% but that does not reflect picture in Electoral College--right now.
