At Last, Shrugs
Fun Dargis review in NYT tomorrow of new sequel to the laughable Atlas Shruged from last year. She joins the crowd of critics who have honored the film with a rare zero percent at Rotten Tomatoes, last I checked. Ayn it peculiar? Well, it does have cameos from Sean Hannity, Teller minus Penn and Grover (Norquist, not his Sesame Street superior). No Paul Ryan voice overs though.

"Variety" reports that the pic (can't call it a flick or film if it's digital can you?) took in an anemic b.o. of $1.7 million despite showing on over a thousand screens. The final sentence in that particular paragraph: "The free market resulted in an average of just $1688 per screen". I wonder what the total box office take for a single showing at 1:00 pm Eastern time of The Met in HD of Donizetti's "L'Elisir d'Amore" will be?
