One more thing I learned in the new Leonard Cohen bio (see my daily music vids charting this during the past two weeks): Joni Mitchell's "Rainy Night House" was about her visit to Leonard's house in Toronto when they were a couple in mid-to-late 1960s. All the details are true: the mother, the gun, the wealthy family, the "holy man." When I heard this on "the FM radio" back then I had no idea who the man was, as she was then linked to other stars, not Leonard. She also wrote "Chelsea Morning"--from the Chelsea Hotel--when she was with him in that period. Before his encounter there with Janis Joplin--one hopes!
