The 'Cold' Truth?
Massive story in Wall Street Journal on new files contradicting some of key claims in Truman Capote's classic In Cold Blood. His investigating hero may have been less so, and then there was the paying of his wife a large sum as film consultant. But what's really interesting are details on how Capote--and Harper Lee--researched the book and got special (sometimes unethical) access. It was, as they say, another time. Today, someone still wants to make money publishing files and crime scene photos.
