Don't miss bombshell just out from The Guardian, after a long probe shared with the BBC. Inklings of this for a long time, and once again--Bradley Manning and WikiLeaks helped spark this.
"The Pentagon sent a US veteran of the "dirty wars" in Central America to oversee sectarian police commando units in Iraq, that set up secret detention and torture
centres to get information from insurgents. These units conducted some
of the worst acts of torture during the US occupation and accelerated
the country's descent into full-scale civil war." First time full evidence assembled. Gen. David Petraeus closely linked. I'll have more on that in a bit. Photog for NYT: "We were in a room in the library interviewing Steele and I'm looking around I see blood everywhere."
Greg Mitchell's influential book "So Wrong For So Long," on the media and the Iraq war, was published today in an expanded edition for the first time as an e-book.
