Man on Fire
Now there are photos of man who set himself on fire on the Mall in D.C. late yesterday afternoon, possibly with someone filming it. You'll see in one photo that smoke visible from far away--quite shocking. Some speculate that it was a stunt that went awry--no protest notes or anything--but that seems unlikely. Very badly burned but may survive.

The majority of the stories I found say he died. As someone old enough to recall the pictures from Viet Nam of the monk in flames, I find this deeply disturbing as an exemplar of American discontent and grievous intent.
The Republicans should be so proud. As a nation we are now on par with China occupying Tibet...where monks have begun a fairly regular immolation schedule.
