To go with upcoming cover story, Rolling Stone brought Garth Hudson back to the basement at Big Pink, for first time since he left, 46 years ago. Now I've added PBS NewsHour coverage--and official "trailer."

Wonderful! Just plain wonderful! I first heard Music From Big Pink when I was staying with Don McNeil from the Voice in a loft on Broome St in the summer of 1968. Paul Williams brought over the first promo copy. Kenny Dorham was there for some reason. Paul put it on the turntable and somebody lit a joint and the record played and all of us knew we were in a new and different land.
