Fire in Cheney's Office -- What was he burning?

Or smoking? The fire is out in one of Vice President Cheney's offices across from the White House, though one had to be rescued off a fifth-floor ledge. Cheney was across the street at the time -- which should lead to all kinds of swell quips about what sort of evidence he had just set on fire. Did he find a CIA "torture tape" that had not yet been destroyed? Private photos of Sen. Larry Craig? The cable he sent to Blackwater ordering guards to shoot that New York Times dog in Baghdad? All memos related to Scooter Libby and Valerie Plame? Records of visits from Jeff Gannon? Copies of his $100,000 a year contract to serve as political consultant to Fox News? Or simply an electrical fire caused by an overload of activity by the shredding machines? Join in the fun, add your guesses here.

How about Hillary destoying the rest of the missing FBI files?

Cheney's office is on fire, and all the mouth-breathing republican set can think of is 'this is about Hillary'...

Man, are you going to get your asses beaten in November.

Always leave it up to the right-wingers to try to divert attention from the obvious. Dollars to doughnuts, Bush/Cheney ordered for the fire to take place because someone was getting too close to something. Couldn't stop the foxes from investigating their own henhouse, so something had to go!

Oh gee Miss Crabtree, you shouldn't punish Dick on account'a he set fire next to his desk plus all the other things mean, bad, illegal things the kids, teachers, parents have seen him doing all over town...you should look the other way and make an example of that Hillary because I heard she might be doing something ("the REST of THE missing files?") even though there is no evidence; so that means you can't punish Dick for anything everybody saw him do, or tell me that my whiny snot snitch brown-nose anonymous act doesn't count, so there, nee-ner-nee-ner!

The shredder is the obvious culprit. However, it was reportedly a 'communications closet', leading me to surmise that the gear with which they've been spying on U.S. citizen overloaded...;-)

I certainly immediately thought that something important was being destroyed OR it was a diversion for something else going on...know how the arsonist is always on the scene watching his handiwork? Note who personally thanked the fireguys...

More Republican records/emails/documents/tapes going missing, on fire, erased, lost, misplaced, redacted or protected by "executive privilege" ... more "accidents" and secrecy (and crimes) going on in this administration than any other in the whole history of the United States. Are we surprised?

Yet there are still a few "pinhead" supporters that still defend these criminals. UNBELIEVABLE!

I hear that the fire was started during the customary, pre-meeting crack smoking session during Cheney's turn to host the local Unitary Executive Theory Meetup. "Unfortunately", the White House and VP Office visitor logs were destroyed in the fire.

The journal of the Aide who kept him updated as the plane approached the towers, with his replies, as witnessed by Mineta: "Of course the orders haven't changed. Have you heard otherwise?"

BushCo will probably turn this into the Reichstag fire redux.

Desperate men will take desperate measures. Start a fire - burn down the office, maybe the building - call it an act of terrorism - evacuate the immediate area - up the National Terrorist Alert to "Severe" - begin a nationwide clampdown on citizens - round-up suspected "non-combatants" - let's declare martial law. Looks like a very nice distraction was just created by and for the embattled Cheney.
Fortunately, someone was obviously thinking rationally, maybe his secretary "Mr. Vice-President, Mr. Vice-President, you can't get away with this, no one's going to buy it, it's too ... too ... too dumb. Now let me throw some water on that fire Oh boy, you're to need another wastebasket."

first thought -- in 1933, when alleged anarchists burned the Reichstag in Berlin, Hitler used the event to shut down parliment and institute the reign of the third reich. of course, nothing like that could ever happen here !!

The fire might have happened while Cheney was charging the batteries on his defibulator/pulsed energy weapon.

During the fire fiddle music was reported coming from the White House.

There are plenty of flaming Republicans who could have started a conflagration in the communications closet.
