'Compliance' And You

Had wanted to see indie film Compliance when it came out a few months back but never came around.  Caught up to it last night via streaming Netflix.   It's totally unbelievable--until you learn how closely it follows the actual facts of the case, just one in a series of "prank" calls to eateries where the caller, usually pretending to be a cop, got managers and employees to do unspeakable things (including, in this case, forced sex), as they wished to not challenge authority.   Really gets you wondering about what you might do.  Rather than post the trailer, here's an ABC report on the actual case.  BTW,   the manager interviewed got one year's probation, her boyfriend who assaulted girl got five years in prison--and the alleged perp has gone free.

This type behavior aligns pretty much identically to persons who rank high on the Right Wing Authoritarian (RWA) survey as identified in the book, The Authoritarian Specter by Altemeyer.
